Overview

The Fergana Valley is Uzbekistan’s green, crafty heart: silk is still woven by hand in Margilan and Rishtan potters fire the same blue glazes their great-grandfathers used. This tour starts there before heading west along the classic Silk Road.

You travel by train to the valley and back, by bullet train to Samarkand, by road across the desert to Khiva, and fly home to Tashkent at the end.

Your trip is planned and run by Khikmatilla, a licensed Uzbek tour guide and founder of Tashkentguide DMC, with licensed local guides in every city.

Highlights

  • Khudoyar-Khan palace in Kokand
  • Rishtan ceramics and Margilan silk workshops
  • Dinner with a family in the Fergana Valley
