Overview
The quickest way to see both of Uzbekistan’s most famous old cities without rushing. You travel to Bukhara by Afrosiyob train, spend the afternoon and evening in its old quarter, then drive across the plains to Samarkand for a full afternoon before the evening train back to Tashkent.

Day 1 · Tashkent – Bukhara (Afrosiyob train)
Hotel pickup in Tashkent for train 768 (08:04–12:21). Lunch, then a guided walk: Lyabi-Hauz, the trading domes, the Poi-Kalon ensemble, the Ark fortress and the Samanid mausoleum. Overnight: Plaza Luxury 4* or similar.

Day 2 · Bukhara – Samarkand – Tashkent
Early drive to Samarkand (about 4 hours). Afternoon tour of Registan square, Gur-Emir and the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. Evening train 767 (18:10–20:31) to Tashkent and drop-off at your hotel.
